Blackthorn Music Festival – 25th to 27th July

We are really excited about Blackthorn, a cracking and unique festival that takes place just outside south Manchester, in the stunning setting of Blackthorn farm. There’s a quary, a water fall, hills and fields, the place is really quite beautiful – so much so you can’t believe it’s so close to Manchester. If you’ve got the weekend free, we highly recommend going. Unlike most other festivals, this one does not require bankruptcy to attend, and we’ll be there, with the BBQ, the smoker, and some tents, selling great food along with Streatza and Chaat Cart, to all the wise festival goers.

The farm is just outside Compstall, Stockport.

The Beagle

We are feeding Chorlton via The Beagle a lot in August. We’re there every Tuesday for Rib Night, but we’re also cracking out other BBQ treats Friday 2nd and most Sundays, so come on down for some slow cooked smoke infused meat goodness.

What’s on in March?

28th March – Fire & Salt BBQ Co. at the Gaslamp

To kick off a month long residency in the Gaslamp kitchen, we’ll be hosting a special Texas barbecue night. Expect, salt and pepper brisket, hot smoked link-sausages and some hot cornbread to go with the top beer pairings put on by the Gaslamp. It’s going to be special.  Find us at 50 Bridge St  Manchester, M3 3BW from 6pm on 28th March.

Here’s our menu:

Salt and Pepper Brisket - 16-hour hickory smoked brisket, marinaded and then rubbed with a simple salt and pepper rub

Smoked hot-link sausages – A pork and beef blend, smoked over low heat then seared on the grill and served with a light barbecue sauce

Black treacle beans – rich and smokey, these  beans are slow cooked for four hours in a black treacle sauce with a cayenne pepper spice mix

Texan-potato salad – made with boiled potatoes, onions, paprika, cayenne pepper and a small dash of barbecue sauce

Sesame coleslaw – White cabbage coleslaw in a vinegar sauce with toasted sesame seeds for added flavour

“This is a true Texan-sized portion of Barbecue.”

The monthly street food night-market is back in town and we’re back with it. We’ll be upping our game for this one and bringing out our new barbecue sauce for you to take home with you.

We’re proud to be serving up at the first of the new Levenshulme Market. We’ll be bringing our classic Beef brisket along with a special breakfast dish for anyone who get down to see us before midday. Keep an eye on our Twitter to find out what our breakfast dish is going to be.

Carolina Cookout Supperclub

Tickets are now sold out for this event, keep your eyes peeled for new events coming up shortly…

It’s cold and wet so we thought what better way to celebrate than to have a winter BBQ supperclub.  On February 8th and 9th 2013 we’ll be giving people a taste of the Carolinas with some of our finest slow smoked BBQ to warm you up at a secret location in Manchester.

We will be asking for a £10 deposit and a further £15 (£25 total) contribution for the event. You are welcome to bring your own drinks and there is no finishing time. Doors open at 19:30.

Wintercue is coming

We’re gearing up for winter and we’ve packed out our calender for December.  Expect Christmas BBQ specials and traditional southern BBQ throughout the month.  We’ll be smoking meats in our BBQ pit come rain or snow – take that weather!

Chorlton Irish Club will be transformed into a bustling bazaar for Christmas as every inch is taken over with a whole heap of quality stalls selling second-hand clothes, vintage finds, records, accessories and more, more, more.

Add DJs, gluhwein, cocktails and workshops to the mix for right good Christmassy cheerfulness.

We’ll be there to make sure you meet your daily requirement for meat 1pm -  7pm. Menu coming soon.

Joining the top notch lineup of traders at Guerrilla Eats Christmas, come and see us at Port Street Car Park – there’s awesome food, competitions and music to keep you warm.

We’ll be there from 4pm – 10pm on Saturday and 11am – 4pm on Sunday.

ALERT – We are unleashing ‘The Dish of Unspeakable Firey Torment‘ and it needs to be taken down. Made with our barbecue pork and a spicy salsa of naga and scotch bonnet chilies, then topped with fresh nagas and a burning sour cream, this dish is not for the faint hearted.

If you want to tackle our competition and take down ‘The Dish’, tell us what makes you a chili massacring warrior tough enough to take down this chill. Let us know on Twitter with the hashtag #fireytorment, and you could join us at 8:00pm on Saturday to face your fellow chili fiends and the Dish itself… think hard about it before you enter this contest.

There will be a prize for the quickest eater who can then withstand 3 minutes of waiting after eating.
